How is Weimar Germany often portrayed?
It is often portrayed as Vibrant and experimental.
Weimar culture is divided into 3 strands. Name all 3 strands:
.Art elite culture - artists, intellectuals, writers and those who supported them formed this group.
.Government-subsidized culture - the government subsidized theaters, orchestras and libraries - bringing culture to quite small towns.
.Popular culture - This was widely enjoyed and largely non-subsidized.
What does Gleichschaltung mean?
It means co-ordination. The Nazis wanted to make sure that every aspect of life was controlled to meet the aims of Nazi policy

All artists and those who dealt with art, such as publishers and art dealers had to be registered with the Reich chamber of culture.

There were strength through joy trips to the theatre, opera and to art galleries and museums.
