 what were the causes of the American revolution?
French and Indian war/the seven years war.
(Note;british were in severe debt after the war)
The enlightenment (people began to value human happiness above all else)
They thought the government should be restricted and the rights of people protected

What were the navigation act?
For Americans colonies to buy and sell their products (cotton tobacco sugar etc) to Britain alone
Please allow Britain to set the price as no one else as there was nobody else to sell to
It led to a lot of smuggling and piracy ( from Americans trying to buy and sell elsewhere) led to a confrontation with the British Navy

Sugar act 1764 placed a tax on importing sugar into America
The stamp act 1765 made it a requirement for legal documents will newspapers certificates and playing cards to have a government stamp this had to be paid for
Then the quartering act 1765 required the American colonial government to pay for food and provide accommodation to British soldiers stationed in the colonies
What is no taxation without representation?
Colonists did not believe that the British government should be able to tax the colonies because they had no representation in the British parliament to decide on tax
