Corporate Culture
Corporate culture is the way that things are done in an
the organisation, the unwritten rules that influence individual
and group behaviour and attitudes.
Factors that influence corporate culture
- The organisation’s structure
- The system and processes by which work is carried
out - The behaviour and attitudes of employees
- The organisation’s values and traditions
- The management and leadership styles adopted
The why of corporate culture
- Human beings feel the need to fit in with group
norms, to avoid unpleasant personal consequences. (e.g.
families) - Individual employers identify most closely with colleagues in the immediate working environment
- Understanding organization culture is important to collectively implement strategies, achieve goals and
targets
-Inconsistent strategies may lead to resistance
and lack of achievement
-Contributes to the wellbeing of employees and creates safe spaces
