Assault, battery, strangulation, harassment, stalking, violation of protection orders.
Suspicious deaths: If CSI, coroners investigator, or patrol has assessed the scene and demes it suspicious Homicide Lt will be notified.
Any of the above listed crimes requiring a warrant.
Robbery section detectives will be notified on all crimes involving:

- any commercial robbery or a victim has been shot or seriously injured
- Take over type robbery.
- Armored car robbery
- Robberies side of the robbery section that are part of an ongoing series and have been previously identified.
- Active kidnap events at the robbery section is responsible for investigating extortion. Demand must be an element.
- Any situation involving a crime that robbery section handles that may gain intense media attention.
- Bank robberies.
- Commercial robberies or other crimes that robbery handles or immediate follow up investigation is necessary. (search warrants).
(The immediate necessity of follow up will be discussed between the supervisor on scene and on-call robbery section representative) - Commercial robberies are part an identifiable spree of three or more events.
What detectives will retain responsibility for commercial burglaries that occur outside of normal business hours?

What detectives retain responsibility for any construction thefts that occur away from an active construction site? (Light pole gets stripped of copper)

When will the organized retail crime and construction theft section be notified and take primary investigative responsibility?

- Theft is over $75,000 in value of retail products.
- Theft involves a suspecting custody who has specific, verify, and actionable information on a fencing operation.
- Theft involves commercial fuel in any theft that involves fuel with the use of a pulser device, or any other device used to manipulate commercial fuel pumps.
- Theft involves items taken from an active construction site, including copper
- Misdemeanor and felony theft is related to retail businesses.
- Commercial burglaries that occur during business hours as part of a grand larceny or petit larceny.
Homicide section will be notified on all: 1-3
- Homicides
- Fire deaths
- Suspicious deaths after crime scene analyst have responded and assessed the scene.
When responding to a major incident crime scene, who’s responsibility. Is it to evaluate the circumstances and determine the need for CSI?

(Gestures corrections personnel will investigate and forward to CIRT Lt) - Use of deadly force incidents (including intentional shootings and deadly force PIT or PIT resulting in death or substantial injury)
- Incident where the force used by officers led to critical injury to the subject of the force was applied.
- Any incident with the department member during the course of official duties is the victim of a violent felony crime and sustained critical injury.
- High risk incident like active shooter upon request of the sheriff.
The safe neighborhoods bureau/gang section will be immediately notified of the following crimes if they are gang involved and will respond to the scene to ASSIST respective investigative unit
- Homicide.
- Attempted murder.
- Any incident or gangs detectives can provide or gain actionable intelligence to or from any department member.
The gang section will be immediately notified of the following crimes if they are getting related and respond to the scene to assume the role of PRIMARY investigative unit
1 firing a gun into an occupied sag
2 firing a gun from a moving vehicle
3 violent felony crimes(bwdw awdw bwsbh)
4 when the fact known to the primary investigative unit of a homicide, robbery, kidnapped, sexual assault, are reviewed in accordance with the policy are determined the crime is gang and the members of a gang may retaliate
