is a protruding bulb at the front of a ship just below the waterline. Its primary function is to reduce the drag caused by water resistance, which helps improve the ship’s fuel efficiency and speed.
BULBOUS BOW
It is a fan-like mechanical device with blades fitted on the shaft. As the propeller of the ship rotates, the energy generated gets converted to pressure, and that is how the propulsion’s thrust is created.
PROPELLER
refers to the left side when you are facing the bow (front) of the vessel. The opposite side is called the starboard side. This term helps sailors and crew clearly communicate directions and locations on a ship.
PORT SIDE
refers to the portion of the vessel that extends above the main deck. It’s the area where you will find the ship’s bridge, crew quarters, passenger accommodations, and other facilities.
