Crj Flight Controls Flashcards
How many hydraulic systems power ailerons and spoilerons?
Each is operated by 2 hydraulic systems
How are the control surfaces actuated?
Inputs to hydraulic control units. (Pcu’s)
How many hydraulic systems operate rudder and elevator.
All 3 systems
Which hydraulic system maintains flight control in emergency?
System 3 acmp 3 from adg bus
What are secondary flight controls?
All trims
Flaps
Spoilers
How are the flight controls operated?
Via cables and pushrods to the pcu’s.
Mechanically operated hydraulically actuated
What us thd procedure for a jammed aileron?
Qrh
Pull roll disconnect handle.
Select roll sel light on in jammed side giving control to operable side of both spoilerons.
What does the bungee breakout do?
In the event of a pcu runaway. A signal is sent to the secu. The secu then sends a signal to respond to the operable control wheel. Secu ghen illuminates green roll sel light in front of pilot who should take control prior to pulling roll disc handle.
What do the yaw dampers do?
Improve stability and dampen out oscillations that could lead to Dutch roll.
What do flutter dampners do?
Prevent flutter with loss of hydraulic pressure to the pcu’s.
Gust lock on ground through trapped hydraulic pressure.
How are flaps and trims powered?
Electrically through screw jacks
How id aileron trim powered?
Electric signal to move them via hydraulic power.
How is the stabilizer powered?
Electric trim motors position a screwjack
How do we disengage z runaway pitch trim?
Pitch trim disc on pilot yoke.
What is stab trim priority
Pilot Copilot Autopilot Auto trim Mach trim
