What is critical limb ischaemia?
How is it defined?
A
An advanced form of Chronic LI.
- Ischaemic rest pain for more than 2 weeks (requiring opioid)
- Presence of ischaemic lesions or gangrene
- ABPI <0.5

On examination?
A
Pale and cold
Weak or absent pulses

Differentials?
A
Spinal stenosis (pain from the back radiating down the lateral aspect of the leg, SSx relieved by sitting)
