five years imprisonment or unlimited fine but if they feel sentencing isn’t sufficient the case may be transferred to the high court
what is the summary procedure?
it is used for less serious cases with a sheriff and no jury
what is the maximum sentence that can be given with summery procedure?
12 month imprisonment or £10,000 fine
