DG must be satisfied that the officer is capable, adequately trained and otherwise a suitable person.
Officer must produce evidence of his designation when exercising their powers in relation to any other person.

4.Constable
All the powers of a Constable in the respective country. England and Wales, NI, Scotland
The same powers as the following if designated
- Revenue and Customs Officer,
- Immigration officer,
5a. General Customs Officials.
Designation as GCO doesn’t confer certain anti money laundering and anti terrorist powers. NCA Officer must rely on POCA and Terrorism Act.

Summarily 1 month/fine
-only when acting within operational power or assisting someone who is.

Assault a Designated Officer
Summarily 6 months/fine
As above, only when acting within operational power or assisting someone who is.
P.23 Impersonating a designated Officer. Summarily 6 months/fine Impersonate an Officer Any statement or act that suggests that person is an officer or has powers in excess of the powers they actually have.

An officer must not disclose information from:
- HMRC and Customs
- Social Security Information
SOS is relevant authority - Intelligence service information
GCHQ
SIS
You must not disclose HMRC info, personal customs info, personal customs revenue information, social security information, statutory payments, maternity allowance, functions relating to tax, intelligence service information
