How long can the trach remain after the urgent procedure
up to 24hrs then changed for a better trach tube
Needle technique equipment needed
12-14 guage IV catheter size 7 ETT (15mm) 3ml syringe adequate oxygenation for approx 30-45 minutes can result in subglottic stenosis

supine and neck neutral position
Surgical technique equipment needed
2.5cm vertical insicion
1-2 cm horizontal on each side and POP is heard
size 5-6 ETT (not to be inserted more than 2-3cm)
size 4 trach tube
Seldinger technique equipment needed
no. 11 blade
guidewire
dilator
etco2
scalpel-finger-bougie technique equipment needed
blade #20 scalpel bougie trach tube size 6 10 cc syringe securement device
Complications of cricothyroidotomy
Esophageal perforation/Fistula too
Subcutaneous emphysema
Excessive bleeding
