16
Q

Relieved face crater borehole depth

A

Friendly side 5 feet deep

Enemy side 4 feet deep

17
Q

Relieved face crater explosive weights

A

5 feet deep, 40 lbs

4 feet deep, 30 lbs

18
Q

Relieved face crater priming

A

Prime rows separately with 1/2 to 1.5 second delay. Fire enemy row first

19
Q

Relieved face crater borehole and row spacing

A

7 feet center to center between boreholes.
8 feet between rows on dirt or gravel roads
12 feet between rows on hard surface

20
Q

Relieved face crater blowout

21
Q

Relieved face crater characteristics

A

Trapezoidal shaped
7 to 8 feet deep
25 to 30 feet wide with unequal slopes

22
Q

Relieved face crater formula

A

N = (L-10)/7 + 1
Round up to next highest whole number
Gives friendly side
Subtract one for enemy side

23
Q

Expedient breaching of a hard surface

A

Use 1 lb of explosive per 2” of pavement. Tamp 2x breaching radius

24
Q

Expedient cratering charge mixture

A

Ammonium nitrate fertilizer and fuel/oil

25
Nitrogen percentage
At least 33.33 percent
26
Fuel to fertilizer ratio
1 quart fuel to 25lbs fertilizer, soak for one hour
27
Expedient cratering charge priming
Prime with one pound TNT, dual priming recommended
28
Expedient cratering charge 4 steps
1 measure fuel and fertilizer 2 mix fuel and fertilizer 3 allow to sit for 1 hour 4 place half in hole/container, add 2 primed blocks tnt, add remaining mixture, tamp with dirt. Don’t leave too long, will absorb moisture and reduce effectiveness.
29
Stump removal
Stumps are measure 12 to 18 inches above ground. Diameter rounded up to 1/2 foot.
30
Stump removal explosive amounts
1lb per 1’ diameter for dead stumps 2lb per 1’ diameter for live stumps If completer tree is being removed then 3 lbs per 1’ diameter
31
Stump removal depths
Lateral tree, stump radius | Taproot tree, stump diameter
