Sensory only - smell
ii. Optic Nerve
Sensory only - vision
iii. Occulomotor (Controls eye muscles)
Motor- medial, inferior & superior rectus, inferior oblique
sensory- proprioception
PS- Iris and lens .constriction of the pupils and lens budge = close vision
iv. Trochlea Nerve
Motor- superior oblique
sensory - proprioception
v. Trigeminal Nerve
Motor- chewing muscles
sensory- proprioception, sensation on face
vi. Abducens
Motor- lateral rectus
sensory- proprioception
vii. Facial
Motor- muscles of facial expression
sensory- proprioception, taste from ant. 2/3 tongue
PS- lacrimal glands- produces tears-moistens clean eyes, submandibular-make saliva and sublingual glands-make saliva.
viii. Vestibulocochlear
sensory- vestibular division- balance and equilibrium
cochlear division- hearing
ix. Glossopharyngeal
Motor- muscles to tongue and pharynx
sensory- proprioception ; taste from posterior tongue
PS - parotid gland- makes saliva
x. Vagus
motor- muscles of pharynx and larynx
sensory- proprioception; taste from pharynx
PS- heart, lungs, abdominal viscera
Function : decreased heart and respiratory rate and increases digestive organs
xi Accessory
Motor- pharynx, larynx, soft palate, trapezuis, sternocleidomastoid.
sensory- proprioception
xii. Hypoglossal
motor- muscles of the tongune
sensory- proprioception
