Question 1

What should the CPP consultation do?

Answer 1

• share information or intelligence about the particular case
• confirm if the referral meets the threshold of the CPP
• consider whether a multi-agency approach is required
• discuss any immediate action required to secure the immediate safety of the child

Question 2

What happens after the CPP consulation?

Answer 2

An IJIP is created, generally by Oranga Tamariki and a copy forwarded to police within 24 hours.

Question 3

What does the IJIP consider?

Answer 3

JIMS Fire Engine

• if a Joint visit is required
• management of the initial Interview of the child
• referral to Medical practitioner and authority to do so
• Immediate Safety of the child involved and any other children who may be identified as being at risk
• any Further actions agreed upon by Oranga Tamariki and Police
• collection of any physical Evidence
