Medical expert
: The candidate has satisfactory knowledge and understanding about Continuing Professional Development (CPD) or Continued Medical Education (CME) activities; the candidate is aware of options for further education (e.g. self directed learning, attending conferences & workshops, practice audit, peer review participation etc) for a programme; the candidate understands the complexities of how adults learn (including adult learning, experiential \ workplace or the concept of lifelong learning). The candidate demonstrates the ability to gain relevant information from appropriate sources e.g. medical councils \ boards, college websites, consultation with experienced colleagues etc. The candidate must demonstrate medicolegal implications of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and peer review.
Manager
demonstrating satisfactory managerial abilities in the workplace including personal and workplace organisation, planning and implementation of strategies, directing \ allocating and facilitating \ leading or negotiating with peers; displays an understanding and ability to facilitate \ lead groups.
Scholar
demonstrates the ability to organise and structure a teaching \ learning session, understands the role and importance of personal and corporate learning in the workplace; can practically translate understanding of how adults learn (e.g. adult learning principles, experiential and self-directed learning) to professional development planning; shows the ability to seek relevant information and to critically apply this information for a task.
Professional
The candidate identifies the ethical obligations to ongoing professional development to ensure clinical performance; acknowledges the role of collegiality and co-operation amongst practitioners in professional development, identifies the obligations to audit and improve patient care provision; demonstrates the need for and value of interpersonal skills in the workplace, demonstrates an understanding of the dynamics that may impact on group functioning and have an approach towards dealing with more common problems in a group setting.
