Informal Balance – asymmetrical
refers two sides that are identical to each other.
Formal balance

The regular, repeated pattern in the elements of art.

Flow or feeling of movement that can be achieved by the distribution of visual units in time
RHYTHM & MOVEMENT
principle of art that isa design that repeats and can be found anywhere. They can be made by repeating shape, line, or color. Patterns can be simple like a checkerboard or complex like the branches of a tree. In art, pattern is used in organizing and decorating designs.
PATTERN
Gives importance or dominance to a unit or an area.
EMPHASIS
Focal point, Highlight of the art work.
EMPHASIS
Pleasing arrangement of parts and the agreement between parts of a composition, resulting in a united whole.
UNITY
Elements in an artwork should have a relationship with one another.
PROPORTION
Assortment or diversity of an art work.
VARIETY and CONTRAST
Produced to prevent monotony and uniformity in the environment.
