What is the sclera?
A white, tough, outer covering of the eyeball that has fats and muscles attached.
What is the cornea?
The covering over the front of the eye.
When the cow was alive, the cornea was clear. When it is dead, the cornea may be cloudy or blue in color.
What are the features of the optic nerve?
It exits out the back of the eye; stronger and more rope-like than the surrounding fat tissue.
What is the aqueous humor?
Clear liquid found in the front of the eye.
What is the vitreous humor?
The gelatinous liquid in the middle of the eye.
What is the lens?
A hard, sphere-shaped object contained between the iris and the vitreous humor.
What is the iris?
Disk-shaped muscle found behind the cornea.
What is the pupil?
Center opening in the iris.
What is is the retina?
A very thin layer of optic cells that is easy to scrape off; found on the back of the inner eye.
What is the tapetum?
A reflective layer found behind the retina.
What is the optic disk?
A point on the eye where the retina connects with the optic nerve.
What is the suspensory ligament of lens?
A ligament that connects the lens to the iris.
