Palpule
elevated lesion <1cm
-can be palpated or have a different texture from the surrounding skin
Plaque
elevated lesions >1cm that can be felt or palpated or have different texture from surrounding skin. ie, psoriasis.
Nodule
Palpable, splid or cystic discrete lesions 1-2cm
Tumour
> 2cm, isolated or group may or may not have surface changes
vesicle
small, clear fluid filled blistered <1cm in diameter
Pustule
vesicles containing pus
bullae
clear, fluid blisters >1cm
petechiae
very small, non-blanchable punctate foci or hemorrhage
purpura
larger area of non-blanching hemorrhage. may be palpable, may signify coagulopathy

Streptococcal toxic shock syndrome
any group A Strep infection associated with shock and organ failure (at least 2 system)
- can have very sand papery rash, stuffing of palms and soles
- causes ards, coagulopathy, hepatic damage

usually abx or nsaids
SJS/TEN catagory
its essentially severe vascular interface dermatitis which causes epidermal necrosis with sloughing of skin and mucosa. ++ mouth mucosa.
SJS = <10% BSA
SJS/TENS 10-20% BSA
TENS >10% BSA
