Covalent Bonding - Revision Flashcards
Draw a dot and cross diagram of Oxygen

Draw a dot and cross diagram of Ethane

How does a covalent bond work?
Electrons, being shared by atoms in a covalent bond, are attracted to the nucleus of each atom in a bond. Remember that electrons are negative and protons, that are in the nucleus, are positive
Draw a dot and cross diagram of Nitrogen

Draw a dot and cross diagram of Methane

Draw a dot and cross diagram of Water

Draw a dot and cross diagram of Carbon Dioxide

Draw a dot and cross diagram of Hydrogen

What is a covalent bond?
A covalent bond is a bond formed between two atoms by sharing a pair of electrons (one from each atom)
