Counterstrain Flashcards

1
Q

8 steps of counterstrain

A
  1. Diagnose SD
  2. Find TP
  3. Est pain scale
  4. wrap around TP while monitoring
  5. reduce pain by 70%
  6. Maintain position for 90 sec
  7. Slowly and passively return pt to neutral
  8. Reasses SD

25
What TP should be treated first if there is equal intensity?
most proximal or midline
26
What TP should be treated if there is a thoracic TP and rib TP?
thoracic
27
Tx of maverick point differs how?
requires lengthening of tissues around TP
28
Definition of rotation
refers to movement of lumbar vertebrae in relation to TP, think of torso movement
