Chapmans point's and VS reflexes Flashcards
What do viscersomatic reflexes represent?
VS disease or dysfx, ocassionally somatosomatic, compromise of ANS
Pain from chapmans point
pinpoint, sharp, non-radiating, greater than expected, pt previously unaware
Where are chapman points found?
usually subcutaneous superficial layers
Characteristics of chapmans point
smooth, small, firm
Chapman point treatment
gentle pressure on or over point, small circles, work to diminish localized fluid accumulation
Indications for Chapman dx
clinically indicated from pt history
Contraindications for chapman tx
pt in emergency care, refusal, relative contraindication with fracture or cancer
Post tx precautions of chapman tx
post-treatment discomfort, drink water, pts may take what they normally take for pain management
