A
Snow collects in a sheltered hollow on the side of a mountain. It compresses and turns into ice

A
The glacier eventually moves down under the influence of gravity and abrades as it goes, rocks are plucked up and are embedded in the glacier. Freeze thaw weathering expands the cracks and rock is pulled out

A
The eroded material is depostied and the base due to a lack of energy, creating a rock lip and the glacier melts, creating a tarn
