Q

Give an advantage and disadvantage of correlations

A

A- useful in new areas of research, when you want to find out if two variables are linked before you design experiments to investigate cause and effects
-easy to analyse visually by drawing a scattergraph-its easy to see if there is a correlation, direction and any outliers

D- can’t tell if one variable causes an effect on the other
-can’t tell which variable causes the other or if a completely separate variable you haven’t measured is influencing your two co-variables
