How long can patients complain of itching for following scabies treatment?

What is erythroderma?
A term used when more than 95% of the skin is involved in a rash of any kind.

Mx of urticaria?
1st line –> non-sedating antihistamines (e.g. loratadine or cetirizine) are first-line (consider sedating for night-time use)
2nd line –> prednisolone is used for severe or resistant episodes
1st line mx of rosacea with predominant flushing but limited telangiectasia?
Consider topical brimonidine gel

1) Epidermal

Which depths of burns are painful?
Epidermal & superficial dermal
How to tell epidermal & superficial dermal apart?
Both blanch
Epidermal –> no blisters
Superficial dermal –> blisters
How to tell superficial & deep dermal burns apart?
Superficial dermal –> blanching erythema
Deep dermal –> non-blanching
Colour of full-thickness burns?
White (‘waxy’)/brown (‘leathery’)/black in colour, no blisters, no pain
Which burns require referral to 2ary care?
1) all deep dermal and full-thickness burns.
2) superficial dermal burns of more than 3% TBSA in adults, or more than 2% TBSA in children
3) superficial dermal burns involving the face, hands, feet, perineum, genitalia, or any flexure, or circumferential burns of the limbs, torso, or neck
4) any inhalation injury
5) any electrical or chemical burn injury
6) suspicion of non-accidental injury
TEN vs SJS?
SJS is less intense than TEN.
For instance, skin peeling might affect less than 10% of the entire body in SJS, while skin peeling affects more than 30% of the body in TEN.
