Coronary circulation Flashcards
When do the coronary arteries arise?
immediately superior to the cusps of the aortic valve from the aortic sinuses
Where does the right coronary artery arise from?
The right aortic sinus
Where does the left coronary artery arise from?
The left aortic sinus
Do any arteries arise from the posterior aortic sinus?
No
What does the left coronary artery supply?
The left atrium, most of left ventricle, some right ventricle, anterior part of IV septum and SA node
What does the left coronary artery divide into?
The anterior interventricular branch and the smaller circumflex branch
What does the anterior interventricular branch travel down?
anterior surface of the heart along the interventricular groove towards the apex of the heart
Where does the circumflex branch travel down?
Passes along the coronary groove on the left border of the heart
Where does deoxygenated blood get deposited?
Coronary sinus
What does the right coronary artery split into?
The marginal branch and the ascending sinoatrial node branch
