Coronary blod flow Flashcards
which region does the GREAT CARDIAC VEIN drain and which artery does it run with?
where does it empty into?
it drains the LEFT side of the hear and runs with the left anterior descending artery (LAD = anterior interventricular sulcus) AND the left cicircumflex artery
empties into coronary sinus
what is the following structures and their locations
aortic sinus
coronary sinus
aortic sinus is the origin of coronary arteries
coronary sinus is located in the coronary sulcus (posterior), where the veins empty into
what structure does the posterior cardiac vein drain?
drains the left marginal artery
describe the path of the left coronary artery
- originate from the left aortic cusp
- short left coronary artery (2cm travels in coronary sulcus)
- bifurcates into left circumflex artery (LCX) = supplies posterior
- left anterior descending artery (LAD) - anterior interventricular ulcus
- LCX branches = left marginal artery in the posterior to supply the left marginal sites
which veins directly drains into the right atria?
- the anterior veins on the right heart
2. the smallest veins in the 4 chambers, they form a microcirculation
where is the crux?
posterior of the heart, at the intersection of the interventricular septum and the coronary sulcus
describe the path of the right coronary artery
- originates at the aortic sinus, the artery opening is located behind the right cusp of the aortic valve
- branches near the base = sinoatrial nodal branch
- branches near the apex = right marginal branch
- right marginal branch bend to the posterior surface = posterior interventricular branch
- at the crux = RCA gives off atrioventricular nodal branch
which artery does the middle cardiac vein run with
the right posterior interventricular artery and the rest of the RCA
whcih artery does the small cardiac vein run with
the right marginal branch artery
