What does CPRT stand for?
Child-parent relationship therapy
What is Child-parent relationship therapy?
A type of filial therapy (10-session) that involves training of the parent to utilize therapeutic agents on the child. These therapeutic agents mainly include play therapy.
It is inclusive as it focuses on the parent, the child, the parent-child relationship, and the family as a whole.
How does brief strategic fit with CPRT?
Focus on strengths and resources within parents and children; addressing problematic sequences of interactions
What is filial therapy?
an approach in which parents of young children are trained to be “therapeutic agents” through learning how to apply basic child-centered play therapy skills in conducting play sessions with their children
