Q

CP14 Method

A
  1. Increase pressure of gas trapped in sealed tube of oil; increases pressure on oil; oil level rises and air compresses
  2. Measure pressure on gauge and volume of gas from the column
  3. Wait for temp to return to room temp
  4. Find at least 7 data values for pressure and volume
  5. 3 repeated reading and find mean volume for each pressure value

Q

CP14 Analysis

A

Plot pressure against 1/v to find relationship; should be straight line with gradient nRT
as PV=nRT
P = nRt * 1/V
