Cooling and Heating Flashcards
Temperature range of the flight deck
18C - 29C (65F - 85F)
Flight deck temperature mid position
24C (75F)
Main deck cargo temperature range
4C - 27C (40F - 80F)
Main cargo mid position
18c - 24C (65F - 75F)
How are pack non normal scenarios managed
Automatically
In standby cooling will a pack shut down
Only if the other pack is NOT is standby cooling and altitude or OAT are not suitable for standby cooling
When will a pack in standby cooling NOT shut down
If the other pack has failed or is also in standby cooling
Why will the packs not shutdown in standby cooling
To continue with pressurization if the other pack is failed or also in standby cooling
Why does the supernumerary area receive 100% fresh air and pressures to a slightly higher dif than cargo
To prevent smoke and odors entering the areas from the cargo areas
What is the purpose of recirc fans
To assist the packs maintaining constant ventilation.
Air is filtered and directed to the cargo conditioned air distribution
Where does trim air come from
Engine bleed air
What controls pack outlet temperature
The compartment requesting the coolest zone temperature
When will the equipment compartment cooling automatically reconfigure to OVRD
- Inflight, both fans fail
- Inflight, low airflow is detected
- Smoke is detected in the forward equipment cooling
- LWR AFT or LWR FWD cargo fire ARM switch is pushed
- EQUIPT COOLING in OVRD
How does the OVRD setup for euipt cooling work
Differential pressure, draws air through the flight deck panels into the compartment area and overboard
