What are disprefered 2nd part answers and what do we do with them?

A

This is when the 2nd part exchange is not preferred by the 1st speaker. We tend to give longer delays (0.6) and we use utterances like ‘uggggh’

A

3 part lists - ‘ready, set, go!’
contrasts - following something bad with a good thing
catchy headlines
projecting a name using 3 steps: identify the person, say a few words about them, name them.
