Convection Currents Flashcards
1
Q
What heats the magma, causing it to rise to the crust
A
The core
2
Q
What happen to the magma while it rises to the crust
A
It cools then becomes heavier and seeks down towards to core
3
Q
Convection currents cause plates to move…
A
Very slowly
4
Q
How does convection current happen
A
The earths core heats the magma, causing it to rise towards the crust. As the magma rises,it then begins to cool. The magma becomes heavier and sinks down towards the core. This process is called convection currents and they make the plates move very slowly
