Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPI)
Pregnancy- cross placenta & elim in breast milk
Caution- liver dz pts
Sucralfate
Do not co-damin with antacids
Bismuth Subsalicylate
Do NOT use in children (because salicylic acid)
Misoprostol
Pregnancy → can induce uterine contractions
Stimulant Laxative
Cramps, colic, nausea, vomiting, other symptoms of appendicitis, undiagnosed abdominal pain
Lubiprostone
Pregnancy- risk to fetus
Linaclotide
Pediatric patients because of reports of ↑ mortality in juvenile mice from dehydration
Mg(OH)2
CAUTION in pts with Renal insufficiency
↑ risk of hypermsgnesemia
