What are employers agents and how do they differ to a contract administrator?
An employers agent acts on behalf of the client as the contract administrator for design & build contracts.
A CA is appointed by the Client to act on their behalf and responsible for administering the construction standard contracts.
How does the process work when deducting liquidated damages?
Client can only claim for LAD’s once they have issued a non-completion certificate and pay less notice, the LAD’s will then be deducted in the valuation by the CA or EA.
How did you prepare the valuation schedule in accordance with on project X?
On Project X I produced a valuation schedule. This included key details such as the valuation date, due date, forecast amount, and the actual amount.
This ensured that all parties had a clear understanding of the
timeframes that would be required to satisfy the contractual
obligations and also what to expect in the upcoming contractor
applications.
How were changes requested and approved on the Credit Suisse project?
On credit Suisse changes were requested and approved through the change control meeting and process.
If a change needed to be raised by a party a change request form would be drafted which would need to confirm the cost and programme impact before instruction.
How is the payment process conducted on a design and build project?
In a design and build project the payment process is contractor lead.
If the contractor misses their payment application date then the timescales slide back until he does and it starts from there.
