72 hours vs 120 hours
Note that both may be less effective if UPSI occurred near predicted ovulation and so IUD would be best option

When should COCP be stopped before major surgery which will have subsequent immobilisation?

A

Oestrogen-containing contraceptives should preferably be discontinued 4 weeks before major elective surgery and all surgery to the legs or surgery which involves prolonged immobilisation of a lower limb. A progestogen-only contraceptive may be offered as an alternative and the oestrogen-containing contraceptive restarted after mobilisation.

A

After taking levonorgestrel as EC, patients can restart their pill immediately. This is in contrast to ulipristal where they are generally advised to wait 5 days
