Prohibited weapon define ?
An imitation firearm or an article that’s prescribed by regulations to be a prohibited weapon, schedule 3 of Control of weapons regulations 2011
Controlled weapons define?
A knife or other than a knife that is prohibited weapon, an article that’s prescribed by regulations, schedule 2 of control of weapons reg 2011
Dangerous article define?
An article which has been modified or adapted to be capable of being used as a weapon; or any other article which is carried with the intention of being used as a weapon

Section 8B, grant EXEMPTIONS from governor in council

Prohibited Weapon offences (S/O)
A person is not to use, carry or posses an imitation firearm without exemption or approval.
A person is not to use, carry or possess a prohibited weapon without exemption or approval.
A person must not sell or manufacture, display or sale prohibited weapons in Victoria without exemption or approval.
Prohibited Weapon offence (I/N)
A person must not use, carry or possess a prohibited weapon within the immediate vicinity of 20 metres of a licensed premises. Without an exemption or approval. It’s an indictable offence
What is section 8G
On duty at designated place that allowed the power to demand a person to produce approval for prohibited weapon.
What’s lawful excuse?
Pursuit in lawful employment, duty or activities. Lawful sport, recreation and entertainment, and legitimate collection
Controlled weapon offences (S/O)
A person must not carry, use or posses a controlled weapon without a lawful excuse
A person must not carry, use or possess a controlled weapon within the immediate vicinity of 20 metres of a licensed premises without a lawful excuse
A person must not carry a CONTROLLED WEAPON unless carried on safe and secure manner that’s consistent with lawful excuse
Dangerous article offences (S/O)
A person must not use, carry or posses a dangerous article in a public place without lawful excuse
A person must not use, carry or possess a dangerous article within the immediate vicinity of 20 metres of a licensed premsis
