Containment Structure Flashcards
Difference between sleeved and unsleeved penitratiins
Sleeved penetrations are designed for multiple pipes or single pipes that carry fluid >150F. Unsleeved penetrations are designed for single pipes that carry cold fluids <150F.
What temperature requires containment integrity to be set?
Set whenever reactor coolant temperature exceeds 200F.
Describe the emergency escape manway.
It is an 18” manually operated hatch on the lower center of the interior door with a double set of O-Rings and test connections to check for leakage
How do you check the double O-Ring seals for leakage.
Pressurizing the space between them and performing a drop / flow test.
What operates the lock pin on the inner and outer door.
Containment IA supply’s air to operate the inner door lock pin.
Service IA provides air to operate the outer door lock pin.
