The waves build up a beach and has strong swash and a weak back swash. Relatively flat and gentle waves

Relatively steep high waves , little swash and strong backwash

Tides caused by gravitation pull of the moon as it orbits the earth

The moons gravitational pull and the friction from wind going over the sea
