Charles Pinckney - South Carolina; if they included the enslaved, it would get them more representation and since they were wealthy, it would be very advantageous
Why was it opposed: bc of the fear of influence from the Southern states; also opposed bc of the work Phillis did it would provide more wealth and power to the Southern states

The southern merchants wanted to control it bc they feared it would end slavery.
The South feared if they got a central govenment bc it would take power away from the people
In deciding if there should be a single executive, what was the fear of many? How were those fears eased?
Fear: it would become a monarch
Eased: there would be checks and balances in the system; they could switch the single executive out if they wanted; THEY SET HIS POWERS so we won’t be able to become a monarch
In deciding how long the executives should serve why do you think the numbers varied so much among the delegates?
The #s most likely varied among the delegates because it would be their personal opinion of how long a person serves until they are corrupted. Also, the #s could vary bc the delegates would have their person opinion about how long someone should serve without becoming a monarchy
