Cobra is for employers with how many employees?
20 or more full time employees, (part time employees count as ½, so 15 FT and 10 PT would meet 20 employee requirement)
What are the six qualifying events for COBRA
- Death of covered employee
- Termination of the employee for any reason EXCEPT GROSS MISCONDUCT
- Reduction of employee’s hours so no longer eligible for coverage
- Divorce or legal separation of covered employee or spouse
- For spouses or children, employee’s eligibility for Medicare
- Child ceasing to be an eligible dependent under plan
