if an area left undisturbed successional change will eventually lead to establishment of a stable climax community. maintaining a habitat may involve deliberate interference to prevent ecosystem developing further

A

a store of seeds from different plant species. acts as backup for conservation of plants in the wild so plants can be reintroduced if they go extinct.
conserve a large number of species in a small space but seeds not always viable after long periods in storage
