What Is Consent?
Consent is to have permission to perform a task. Consent can be withdrawn at any time. All people have the right to decide for themselves whether or not they agree to medical treatment.
What Are The 4 Elements Of Consent?
1) Must be related to treatment
2) Must be given voluntarily
3) Must not be obtained through misrepresentation
4) Must be informed
What Is Informed Consent?
Informed consent means the client understands the treatment and the risks
What Is Implied Consent?
Implied consent is consent which is not verbally expressed by a person, but inferred from a person’s action, the facts and circumstances of a particular situation. (Can be silence or inaction)
What Is Autonomy?
Having the freedom and choice to make decisions on your own
