Connotation
-Refers to the wide array of positive and negative associations that most words naturally carry with them.
-is the emotional and imaginative association surrounding a word.
Eg: Rich, loaded, or privileged.
Denotation
-Is the precise, literal definition of a word that might be found in a dictionary.
Eg: Skinny or Slim
Diction
How a writer conveys an idea or point of view, and get a story across in an effective way.
Style
A way that a writer writes, it can varies from author to author and depends on one’s word choice.
Voice
A way the narrator tells their stories, and provides a sense through personality that the character is a real person and intends a specific message.
Tone
The attitude of a writer towards a subject or an audience. This is generally conveyed through the choice of words, or viewpoint of a writer has on a particular topic.
