how sounds modify each other when they meet, e.g. red wine becomes repwine

A
describes the disappearance of a sound. most common are /t/ and /d/ when they appear in a consonant cluster.

juncture
A
features that may occur at the boundary between two words which make the boundary unambiguous and clear although speech is still connected. e.g. ice cream vs i scream, grey tapes vs great apes.

cantenation
A
when the last consonant of the first word is joined to the first vowel of the next word, e.g. an apple sounds like napple.
