How do Daoism and Confucianism differ from one another?
- Daoists emphasize human relationship with nature and say we all should seek harmony with the Dao, if we follow wu-wei then harmony will come to us naturally.
- Confucians emphasize interpersonal relationships and rules, and believe virtue can be taught or trained and that is how we achieve harmony, we make it.
Life and teachings of Kong Fuzi (Confucius)
Meritocracy
Rule based on education and talents rather than birth or social status. Exam scores = moving up the social ladder

One of The Four Books containing the sayings of Confucius. (compiled after his death)
Junzi
The ideal state of being for anyone (only boys and men though) of proper training and education

Propriety, good form, courtesy and respect, Inner Virtue
Mencius
Student of Confucius, Scholar and master, had more egalitarian views and that humans are good by nature

Benevolence, sympathy, and the will to seek good of others, Inner Virtue

Respect and reverence between parent and child relationship, especially with fathers and sons
