A

Conform to be liked/ fit the group norm. Usually occurs when surrounded by strangers where you feel worried about rejection

Give answers to maths questions either easy or hard. More conformity to incorrect answers when hard. Although true for students who viewed their maths ability as poorer

What is a limitation of normative social influence? (AO3)

A

People less concerned with being liked are less effected by NSI. People with greater need for affiliation = nAffiliators. Students in need for a high level of affiliation are more likely to conform (NSI)

What is a limitation of the ‘two process model’ (AO3)

A

Both NSI and ISI are involved. Conformity reduced when a dissenting PPS present (Asch). Reduced NSI as provides social support. ISI reduced as provides an alternate information source.
