A
  • Have positive emotion – negative emotions can be seen as energising and motivating and can be learnt from, more likely to remain calm and relaxed
  • Facilitates concentration – focus on task in hand
  • Goal setting – confident athletes set hard goals to challenge themselves.
  • Increase effort – low confidence = don’t believe they have the skills to put in effort
  • Performance – can increase if confident
