- May experience tingling, tremor, palpitations, chest tightness prior to episode
- May feel sorry or guilty afterwards
- Age of onset: 6-20
- Comorbidities: Mood disorders, anxiety disorders, SUD

- May set fires to “help” put them out
- Many start in childhood
- May have learning difficulties

- Failure to resist impulse to pull out one’s hair
- May have urges to pull others hair
- Females greater than males 10:1
