A congenital supra-ventricular tachycardia pre-excitation syndrome

- Presence of an accessory pathway (bundle of Kent)

A
- Cardiomyopathis e.g. HOCM
- Mitral valve prolapse
- Ebstein’s anomaly (congenital malformation of the heart characterised by displacement of septal and posterior tricuspid leaflets)
- Congenital cardiac defects e.g. secundum ASD

- Palpitations
- Light-headedness
- Syncope

A
atrial dilatation leads to release of ANP

Describe a deadly complication of WPW syndrome
A
WPW may cause AF which can easily develop into VF => cardiac arrest

- tachycardia
- Short PR interval
- Broad QRS complex with delta wave
