When does an additional permanent concussion sub occur?

A

When a player with suspected/confirmed concussion is subbed and doesn’t take any further part in the match
It doesn’t count as a ‘normal’ sub

How many concussion subs does a team have? How does it work?

A

1

A concussion sub can be made regardless of how many normal subs have been used

The concussion sub can be a player who has previously been subbed at any time

The opposing team has the option to use an additional substitute for any reason when a team uses a concussion sub

  • after an on or off field assessment
  • at any time, including when a player has been assessed and returned to the FOP
