Explain conceptual links
Conceptual links refers to how the different concepts of music are used together to create a specific musical style and concept.
Explain comparison
The use of the concepts of music to compare two versions of the same song, either by comparing the two versions separately, or by analyzing their similarities and differences.
Explain unity
Unity in a piece of music is what unifies it and ties it together which can be achieved through the repetition of different musical features such as melody, harmony and rhythm. E.g. repeating melody throughout a piece in different sections.
Explain contrast
Contrast in a piece of music is where different musical features are used that make the piece dynamic and interesting. E.g. using binary structure where normally two sections sound completely different to each other.
Explain tension
Tension is an effect that creates musical interest to a listener. Tension produces a sense of anxiety and there is generally always a release of tension or resolution. It can also be viewed as the composers way of creating excitement or building emotion in music.q

Explain climax
Climax is how the concepts of music are used to build up to a specific point or climax in a piece of music. Climax is achieved through the build up of the concepts of music. E.g. the dynamics increasing or the pitch getting higher, or both.
