What is the definition of a society
people who share a culture and a territory
what is the sociological perspective
seeing the general in the particular (seeing how something represents a greater whole) and seeing the strange in the familiar (seeing society as if you were seeing it for the first time).
what is social location
your location on a “social map”, encompasses your race, class, age, gender, and many other qualities.
what is structural functionalism
the idea that society is a well oiled machine , whose parts work together for stability. can be really bad at understanding and dealing with change.
What is conflict theory
the idea that socity is made up of different groups all fighting over resourses.,the basic idea of looking at power dynamics and analyzing the ways in which struggles over power drive societal changes
what is symbolic interaction
see society as made up of everyday interactions
what are social functions
groups or institutions that provide functions to society.(ex.family, schools ect)

unintended function, like how schools socialize children even though the primary function is to give knowledge.
